July was jam packed …

🚤 We hired a boat and headed up the River Stour - so beautiful and peaceful

🌊 Kayaked to Old Harry Rocks from Studland with @foreadventure foreadventure. I’ve been meaning to do this for a few years but my daughter is now old enough to join in so it seemed like a great time to finally book it!

🛥️ We popped along the coast to Lymington and booked onto the @puffincruiseslymington boat trip. They do a fantastic 30 minute trip.

🇬🇷 First visit to Santoroni restaurant for my birthday - I LOVE Greek food so this was a real treat.

🦚 Yearly trip to @ntbrownsea although sadly no peacocks or red squirrels spotted this time! For the first time ever we visited the beach - we’ll definitely do this again as it was such a wonderful place to relax

Work wise - things definitely didn’t calm down due to summer! I have lots of Autumn events I’m working on so it’s still a very busy time and will be for the next 4 months.

After years of trying to get back into a routine,

After years of trying to get back into a routine, I've officially re‑joined the gym!

I’ve tried exercising at home using fitness apps and YouTube workouts, and I’ve tried running — but despite my best attempts, I just don’t enjoy running (although I can’t rule out giving it another go in the future!). And exercising at home doesn’t work when there’s a spaniel who definitely wants to get involved. Ultimately, I realised that for exercise to actually work for me, I need to get out of the house.

So I’m back, and I’m loving it! As a freelancer, I’m always evolving how I do things — finding better, more efficient ways to work and look after myself — and getting back into the gym has made such a noticeable difference already. I’ve actually been amazed at how much better I feel.

Fellow freelancers, I’d love to know what you do that helps you feel at your best. I’m always on the lookout for new ideas!
